Sherman's Two Strikes Lead ORR to a 6-1 Win Over Case

Max Sherman

Max Sherman scored twice during ORR's first half five goal barrage over the Case Cardinals in Swansea. Colby Stabbel, Nick Coelho and Matt Teefy added a goal each to end this one early.   The second half saw both teams substituting freely.    The bright spot for Case was  #10 Mark MacKenzie who let loose a cracker from 25 yards that keeper Andrew Hughes, who had replaced Matt Beatty at the half,  no chance at saving.

Nate Houston on the attack

Freshman Chris Muther made a good showing in his first varsity game at midfield with good distribution and tenacious defense.  The defensive back four of Hirrallel, Gaspar, Filloramo and Gammell squashed any thoughts by Case of penetrating for a chance at goal.  Adding to the mix, the midfield quartet of Houston, Zucco, Teefy and Sherman combined with the back four to play a near perfect 4-4-2 zone defensive game.  Nick Coelho and Stabell created havoc for the Cardinal defense with their speedy play and penetrating runs.

The substitutions of Robbie Magee, Chris Muther, Max Houck, Ted Kassabian and Ian Gray continued the near total shutdown of Case's offense while Evan Lacomb and Teddy Costa kept the Cardinal defense honest with their speed.

Chris Hirallel closed out the scoring when he knocked one in during a goalmouth scramble.

The Bulldogs will host Wareham on Monday at 3:30.
