Bulldogs Settle For a Disappointing 0-0 Draw

Saddle up for Fairhaven

ORR out shot the Blue Devils of Fairhaven 13-4 and played most of the game in the devils end, but had to settle for a 0-0 draw on a bumpy, small Fairhaven venue.

The Blue Devils used their field advantage to bunker in and absorb the waves of ORR's attacks.  Max Sherman, Nate Houston, Nick Coelho, Matt Teefy and Teddy Costa combined for plenty of shots at goal, but keeper Matt DaCosta was only called upon to make five saves.  Fairhaven's defensive back four took a few hard shots to the body when Max Sherman and Nate Houston let loose a few rockets from outside the 18.

Colby Stabbel

Defensively, ORR's stingy defensive play prevented Fairhaven from sustaining any kind of attack which gave Matt Beatty another routine day in the nets.  When the devils penetrate into the final third, they had to contend with the play of Chris Hirallal, Brendon Gaspar, Noah Filloramo, Marc Gammell and Teddy Kassabian.

ORR's best opportunity came in the 31st minute on a driven ball across the goal and Colby Stabbel sent it into the side netting after a near perfect run to the far post.   The Bulldogs did get a handful of shots at goal in the final ten minutes, but the legs had been taken to their limits and would not cooperate resulting in shots that  were either off target or weak.  Matt Teefy nearly sealed the win for ORR when his header off a corner kick from Nate Houston, sailed just wide.

The ORR players gave it all they had and were visibly upset at the final result of this one.

The team travels to Case on Friday for a 3:30 kickoff.
