That's Everyone

The Bulldogs improved to 13-2-2 with a resounding 2-0 win over visiting Bourne.  The Reds are undefeated at home and also have beaten every team in the conference, avenging an earlier 3-1 loss to Bourne. They also settled things concerning their other loss to Seekonk two weeks ago, with a 2-1 victory over them.

Today's match was without a doubt tournament quality play with ORR taking control early.  Games are won with strong midfield play, and the Bulldogs got to a championship level with the play of Matt Teefy and Nate Houston.  Houston's ball control and deft passing kept ORR in control allowing his mates to make penetrating runs that constantly put Bourne on their heels.  At 13:17 of the first half, Nick Coelho settled a long pass from Houston, turned and pushed a perfectly weight back pass that found Teefy unmarked just outside the 18.  Teefy left footed a first time shot that beat keeper Froman cleanly to the far post.   Five minutes later Noah Filloramo found himself inside the area and tried to feed Max Houck  who was waiting just inside the 18.  The ball got past Houck who found himself facing away from the goal. Max took a step toward the ball, turned and snapped a high knuckle ball  over the outstretched hands of Froman for the 2-0 lead.

The Second half started to see the frustration begin to eat away at the visitors. Things got ugly when Nick Coelho collided the Froman who let loose a howl that would make any Halloween werewolf proud.  Bourne's central defender, Gabriel,  took offense, charged Coelho and let loose a roundhouse punch that barely missed connecting.  Fourteen minutes into the half, Bourne's defensive wing back Garcia drew a yellow card after a dangerous tackle and head referee John Santos recommended the teams take a timeout to settle down the players.

Bourne changed to a 3-4-3 to add more attack which provided an offensive spark that got them into a few dangerous positions in the final offensive third.   ORR retreated to hold off the push and withstood the pressure easily, constantly forcing Bourne to make bad passing decisions and stymieing any creativity Bourne tried to muster.

Much credit has to be given to ORR's back four of Gammell, Hirrallel, Filloramo and especially Boo Gaspar who drew raves from his team mates after the game.  It's only apropos that Boo would play a monster game,  especially this time of year.

The Bulldog's travel to New Bedford Voke on Wednesday for a much anticipated  3:30 PM showdown of the giants. This one could be a cracker.
